Celebrating a moment in history

By Sr Christina Dolan

Saturday morning May 6th - somewhere in the early hours - saw Clare and the Activities team setting up for a Day of Royal Celebration.  And what a day it turned out to be !

On the large screen we were able to follow the count-down preparations from Westminster for the historic coronation of King Charles 111. By midday trolleys laden down with celebratory food arrived.  Only Presentation Sisters’ staff can do it as it was … lavish, wonderful and fit for Royalty!

The Christian ceremony of Coronation was so reminiscent of Catholic tradition, not unlike Priestly Ordination in which symbolic garb is worn and
Vows expressed and signed.  Sacred, serious and poignant !

At this momentous time we pray for our Monarch that the Holy Spirit will be his Guide now and into the future.

God save the King  !   Long May he reign. !
